Panathinaikos pursuing Toko Shengelia

Panathinaikos continues its transfer planning unabated, with Toko Shengelia at the top of the list for the forward position.

According to Eurohoops information, Panathinaikos is in contact with the player’s side, as Virtus apparently cannot afford his contract, which he signed in the middle of last season. So if he finds a team that will cover the two million euros he has received in the new season, then he might let him go with no buyout.

Discussions between the two sides are on track, as there appears to be fertile ground.

In fact, a few days ago, according to a report by “Corriere di Bologna”, the Georgian forward is also a target by Crvena Zvezda and his former coach Dusko Ivanovic. Especially in the case that the deal between Partizan and Nikola Mirotic becomes official, then the Reds will move immediately to acquire him.

Shengelia, now 31 years old, finished this season in the EuroLeague, averaging 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists, while in his career in Europe so far he is averaging 11.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 0.9 steals.
