Panathinaikos is one of the main players in the European transfer market, but there their effort to get Jan Vesely couldn’t end with a transfer from Barcelona.
After Papagiannis left for Fenerbahce, the Greek club targeted Jan Vesely to reinforce their front line, however, the Czech big man has a contract with Barcelona and he is not leaving.
As first reported by SDNA and confirmed by Eurohoops, Vesely got a solid offer from the Greeks and Panathinaikos was willing to give Barça a million euros as a buyout, but his own agent, Misko Raznatovic, has confirmed that Jan Vesely will not go to Greece this summer.
Last year, Jan Vesely averaged 9.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.8 steals in the Euroleague, while in the Spanish league, he averaged 9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.8 steals.
Meanwhile, Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos confirmed via Instagram Live that Panathinaikos made the offer to Vesely and also to Tyler Dorsey, and Real Madrid‘s Mario Hezonja and Edy Tavares, but Madrid, Fenerbahce, and also Barcelona rejected the possibility of a transfer.
