Zalgiris Kaunas strengthened its roster for the next season by exercising options in the contracts of Keenan Evans and Ignas Brazdeikis, ensuring their presence for another season, according to the official statement.

Both players had clauses allowing them to explore opportunities with other clubs, but they ultimately chose to remain with Kaunas for the upcoming season.

Evans had a challenging previous season due to an Achilles tendon injury he sustained in January. Nevertheless, he remained a pivotal player and one of the team’s leaders. Prior to his injury, the American showcased his talent with an impressive average of 15.9 points (shooting at 45.8% from beyond the arc), 3.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 17.4 RRP per game in the EuroLeague.

Brazdeikis had a promising debut EuroLeague season, contributing significantly with an average of 11.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

Furthermore, Brazdeikis is set to rejoin the Lithuanian men’s basketball team to prepare for the upcoming World Basketball Championship, emphasizing his dedication to representing his country at the international level.

During this summer, Zalgiris further bolstered its roster by acquiring Naz Mitrou Long and Danielius Lavrinovicius. On the other hand, Achile Polonara, Tyler Cavanaugh, Karolis Lukosiunas, and Isaiah Taylor have left the club.
