From LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne to Girona, the switch has been officially completed for Yves Pons.
His departure from the French club was announced Tuesday. During the last season in the EuroLeague, Pons participated in 30 games, achieving an average of 3.7 points and 1.8 rebounds, resulting in a 3.1 PIR.
Confirming the report of Eurohoops’ Alex Molina on being under Basquet Girona’s radar, his move to the ACB team based in Catalonia and controlled by Marc Gasol was officially announced Wednesday.
The 24-year-old Haitian-born French forward initially embarked on his professional career with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2021. However, he primarily played in the G League during that time.
He then returned to Europe where he previously attended the French sports institute INSEP in Paris and played for its affiliated club Centre Fédéral de Basket-ball in the amateur third-tier division of French basketball before going to college with Tennessee (2017-2021).
