As expected, the 34-year-old Serbian Crvena Zvezda’s captain Branko Lazic extended his commitment to his beloved club for one more season, being the club’s record holder in terms of the number of games played and trophies won. He played 756 games in a total of 12 full seasons.
Spending 18:24 minutes per game over a total of 25 appearances last year, Branko Lazic averaged 2.7 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game for Crvena Zvezda. In the ABA League, the experienced guard had 4.6 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists for the red-and-white side.
In the 2023-24 season, Branko Lazic will see a lot of new faces in the locker room, as Dusko Ivanovic’s team brought in Dejan Davidovac, Milos Teodosic, Adam Hanga, Marko Simonovic, Mike Tobey, Joel Bolomboy, Rokas Giedraitis, Shabazz Napier, and Yago dos Santos. Moreover, the center Ognjen Kuzmic extended his contract with Crvena Zvezda for two years.
