Committing to three additional years with ALBA Berlin, Louis Olinde is prepared to help in a peculiar campaign with plenty of new teammates.
Olinde, 25, re-signed for three more seasons, the team announced Wednesday.
“Berlin has become my second home over the last three years,” he commented on his experience with the team based in the capital and largest city of Germany, “I have met a lot of people here. I love the club and the surrounding people. That is why it was an easy decision for me to sign another three-year contract with ALBA.”
Departures of the ongoing offseason were highlighted by longtime leader Luke Sikma switching to Olympiacos. Tamir Blatt, Jaleen Smith, and Maodo Lo also moved on to new challenges in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. Yovel Zoosman, Ben Lammers, and Marcus Eriksson left as well.
“Many players left and there will be a few new faces,” described Olinde, “But I am looking forward to it. For everyone in the team, this is an opportunity to take another step forward and more responsibility.”
The Hamburg-born forward is coming off averaging 3.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.8 steals per contest over five appearances with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA 2K24 Summer League in Las Vegas.
Since landing in Berlin, he logged 76 appearances in the EuroLeague, upping his individual total to 92. As a promising youngster at Brose Bamberg, he introduced himself through 16 games played between the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
