A legend of ASVEL comes back home: Edwin Jackson signed a one-year deal with his beloved club. Having played 266 games with the black-and-white team, he spent time in Villeurbanne debuting in 2007, playing from 2010 to 2015, and returning in 2019 to mark the team’s return in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague to average 5.8 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.
Moving to Barcelona in 2014, the 33-year-old French guard also wore the jerseys of Malaga, Estudiantes, Guangdong Tigers, Buducnost, and Nanterre. After two years with Estudiantes and a little break in France, he last played in the Spanish third division with Hestia Menorca, averaging 18.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
“Edwin arrives with enormous motivation, the desire to prove things. Having him with us the year we arrived at the LDLC Arena is a strong symbol, he marked the history of our club and he is a true lover of ASVEL”, Tony Parker commented on his return.
The return of Edwin Jackson marks only the latest move on the market by ASVEL Villeurbanne. The French club already announced the incorporation of Mbaye Ndiaye, Boris Diallo, John Egbunu, Frank Jackson, Noam Yaacov, Paris Lee, Mike Scott, and finally Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot.
