Looking to the future, Fenerbahce Beko is set to sign Yigit Hamza Mestoglu.
Mestoglu, 19, reached an agreement with the team based in Istanbul, as reported by Eurohoops’ own Bugra Uzar. Under a double-licensed contract, he will be eligible to play for both the senior and junior teams.
The young forward has represented Turkiye across junior national teams, competing in the 2019 FIBA U16 Championship, the 2021 U18 and U20 European Challengers, the 2022 FIBA U18 European Championship, the 2023 FIBA U19 World Cup, and the 2023 FIBA U20 European Championship.
Coming out of defunct Banvit, Mestoglu switched the junior teams of UCAM Murcia in 2019. In the 2021-22 season, he logged two brief appearances in Spain’s Liga Endesa registering one assist over four minutes. In 2022-23, he was loaned to Decolor Fundacion Glabalcaja La Roda, tallying 8.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per contest over 26 appearances in LEB Plata, the third-tier division of Spain.

An exciting prospect is on the way back to Turkiye, after developing for four years in Spain. Joining Fener, he will earn playing team with the youth team combined with a minor role on the senior team under the guidance of Greek tactician Dimitris Itoudis.
Fenerbahce has added Yam Madar, Raul Neto, Giorgos Papagiannis, Sertac Sanli, and Nate Sestina during the offseason. Also, Metecan Birsen, Marko Guduric, Nigel Hayes-Davis, and Dyshawn Pierre all inked contract extensions. Other players under contract and expected to run it back include Sehmus Hazer, Melih Mahmutoglu, Johnathan Motley, and Scottie Wilbekin.
