Partizan Belgrade signed former NBA guard PJ Dozier to a one-year deal, the Serbian powerhouse announced. This is Dozier’s first venture outside of the USA in his professional career after spending six seasons in the NBA.
“This is my first time actually leaving the United States, so I was a little nervous at first,” Dozier said per Partizan. “However, as I had only heard good things about the city, the nervousness quickly turned into excitement. I heard about the club and that it was the best place to play with the best coach, which is why I’m very happy to pay for such a club and such a coach.”
From 2017 to 2023, Dozier registered 136 NBA appearances with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets and the Sacramento Kings. He had his top run in 2020-21 with Denver, posting 7.7 points and 3.6 rebounds.
So far in the 2023 offseason, Partizan has signed swingman Mateusz Ponitka and guard Ognjen Jaramaz. The club also extended the contracts of three major contributors: All-EuroLeague guard Kevin Punter, forward Zach LeDay and wing James Nunnally.
