Following the return to Berlin to conclude the 2023-24 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season, the 2025 Final Four is expected to be held in Barcelona.
Pending final details, the Catalonia city is slated to host the 2025 Final Four, according to Marc Mundet.
Finishing the 2010-11 season of Europe’s premier club continental competition in Barcelona landed eventual champion Panathinaikos, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, Real Madrid, and Montepaschi Siena in Palau Sant Jordi. Great Dimitris Diamantidis leading the Greens to their sixth EuroLeague championship was named MVP. Triumphing in the Playoffs over Regal FC Barcelona, the Greek giant previously prevented Barca from competing in the Final Four at home.
Earlier editions of the Final Four held in Barcelona stretch to 2003 with hosting FC Barcelona participating and being crowned European champion for the first time in team history and in 1998 with Kinder Bologna claiming its own first championship.
From Kaunas to Berlin and from there to Barcelona
Last December, Euroleague Basketball officially awarded the 2023 Final Four to Kaunas and the 2024 Final Four to Berlin. In Lithuania, the season-ending tournament of the 2023-24 season saw Real Madrid edge out Olympiacos in the championship game and AS Monaco ranking third over fourth-placed Barca. Switching to the next season, offseason moves signaled ambitions for multiple teams across the field to travel to the capital of Germany.
All involved sides finalizing necessary paperwork are expected to soon confirm the Final Four’s next destination in the form of Barcelona.
