As announced by his agent Misko Raznatovic on Twitter, Isaiah Taylor won’t continue playing in Europe next season, as the Texas Longhorns point guard will move his talents to China, signing for Shanxi Fenjiu PBC.
Winning the Lithuanian championship and the Lithuanian cup with Zalgiris Kaunas last year, he was named MVP of the LKL Finals after averaging 20.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game against Rytas Vilnius, coming up clutch with 32 points in the do-or-die Game 5. In last year’s EuroLeague, instead, he had 5.7 points and 1.6 assists per game.
Before heading to Lithuania, the 29-year-old started the 2022-23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season with Anadolu Efes, temporarily replacing Shane Larkin. Previously, he spent time in the NBA with the Houston Rockets and the Atlanta Hawks, playing for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the G-League, and representing Maccabi Rishon LeZion and UCAM Murcia overseas.
