The 2023-2024 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season will start tomorrow, and EuroLeague Fantasy is here, with Eurohoops having its own league (Eurohoops League): we invite you to come and play with us, as the winner will receive a Euroleague team jersey.
Once again, moreover, we’re here to give you advice and suggestions in order to create the best possible team. Starting from the ones who upgraded their value, because a certain Sasha Vezenkov moved elsewhere…
Alec Peters is our first suggestion
Alec Peters’ role has been upgraded as he showed in Olympiacos‘ pre-season friendly games. Although his team plays in OAKA and Peters already faced Panathinaikos with relatively low numbers, we believe that for 9.1 rating points, he will be a reasonable player to trust for the start of the season.
Other Olympiacos players to be trusted are surely Giannoulis Larentzakis – being put at an incredible price (6.6) – and Michalis Lountzis (4.0). They would likely bring high-number points to your team, proportionally to their EuroLeague Fantasy value.
Who won’t be in OAKA anymore is Matt Thomas, who moved from Panathinaikos to find important minutes in ALBA Berlin’s starting-five, probably. The German team faces Bayern Munich – Pablo Laso is the coach for our team with a tremendously favorable price (6.5) -, and Matt Thomas is a good solution, costing only 8.3.
He’s not the only suggestion we have from ALBA Berlin, as we like Johannes Thiemann (8.4 points) and the newcomer Sterling Brown (10.2 credits). Talking about cheap starters, Joffrey Lauvergne costs only 9.0 points and could bring good solutions to your team by starting for ASVEL.
Pay attention to Panathinaikos at the beginning
Talking about the new Ergin Ataman’s Panathinaikos, we would recommend caution at the start. You also saw in Rhodes that they still need a lot of work and the premiere with Olympiakos does not cause interest in Fantasy from Panathinaikos’ side.
Kostas Sloukas remains a big basketball star in real life and Fantasy, Juancho Hernangomez is projected to put up numbers but he costs a lot – 14.5 points as much as Mathias Lessort, if you want to go for a safe but expensive solution – while Jerian Grant (11.0) is way too expensive.
Given that Panathinaikos will need a scorer, we chose as a substitute Marius Grigonis, who was clearly absent in the Super Cup final. Ergin Ataman may want to use the Lithuanian sharpshooter more.
Don’t overprice!
With a careful look, we found that two NBA stars who came to Europe to save their careers are highly valued. We don’t talk about Kemba Walker, who still hasn’t even played in France, and whose value (15.2) seems too much to spend without even seeing the former Boston Celtics player’s conditions.
If you’re going to get a guard of such value in Fantasy, the preferred and safer option is Facundo Campazzo, which is also cheaper (13.8 credits). Jabari Parker costs 13.2 points and so far he hasn’t caught worthy attention For 13.6 points, you could take Dzanan Musa. Why not?
We also think that players like Luke Sikma and Milos Teodosic at 12.3 points are too expensive for the role we expect them to play in the EuroLeague Fantasy. To sum it up, let’s take a look at our team for Round 1.
