LDLC ASVEL concluded the previous EuroLeague season at the bottom of the standings and started the new season with a substantial loss to Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade. Nevertheless, president Tony Parker remains optimistic about the team’s future.
Speaking on the SKWEEK Show, the former NBA star discussed the team’s expectations, expressing hope that the new LDLC Arena will contribute to the club’s prosperity.
“For the EuroLeague, we are considered an intermediate club, but I hope that with the new arena and our development, we’ll be able to compete for a spot in the Top 8 every year. But for now, that’s our reputation,” Parker said.

ASVEL had a disappointing previous season and made significant signings over the summer, including former NBA players Mike Scott, Frank Jackson, and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarot, bolstering the team. However, the competition has also intensified.
“People might think I’m crazy when I say, ‘If you don’t laugh when I share my dream, then it’s not big enough.’ When I look back at our last season, maybe there were two players, where we took risks due to financial constraints, that didn’t work out. But there were 10 games that we lost by four points or less. When you consider how close it was last year, before the last two matchdays, you couldn’t predict who would make it to the playoffs. We’re not that far off. So, with some adjustments, we can improve. People may say, ‘Come on Tony, you finished last.’ Maybe we did finish last, but if you analyze it, we’re not that far behind.“
