The current situation in Israel forced the Euroleague to change the location of the match between Valencia Basket and Maccabi Tel Aviv this Wednesday, October 18, moving it out of Israel but at least the game will be played.
The game was initially scheduled to be played in Tel Aviv , and on top of that the Spanish Ministry of the Interior declared the meeting “high risk” with the following statement:
The Permanent Commission of the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sports has agreed to declare it high risk the first leg of the basketball Euroleague between Valencia Basket and Maccabi Tel Aviv, which will be played next Wednesday, October 18, at 8:30 p.m. in Valencia.
However, the match is not at risk and remains scheduled, as confirmed by the Euroleague to local media “Las Provincias” although special security measures are being taken.
Maccabi will travel from Cyprus – where the team has been since last week – to Valencia, without any more details about their trip being public.
