Baskonia is on the verge of signing a new point guard, as the team is close to a deal with US player Chris Chiozza.
The two sides are really close to sealing an agreement, with El Correo even reporting that the former NBA champion will join the team on Wednesday.
Injury-plagued Baskonia made a coaching change before the EuroLeague Round 6 game against Partizan, with Dusko Ivanovic taking over from Joan Penarroya.
In dire need of options, since in the last weekend’s loss to MoraBanc Andorra the Vitorian team competed with only eight players due to a series of injuries, Baskonia opted for the former NBA player, who finished last season in the ACB League with UCAM Murcia, averaging 9.9 points per game.
Chiozza started his NBA career in 2019 with the Houston Rockets. He collected 91 regular season appearances averaging 3.3 points and 2.4 assists, and also played for the Washington Wizards, Brooklyn Nets, and lastly, the Golden State Warriors. With the San Francisco team, he won the Championship in 2022.
