In the EuroLeague Regular Season Round 6, Baskonia managed to find a thrilling 84-83 win over Partizan Belgrade thanks to Chima Moneke’s clutchness at the line late in the game, giving Dusko Ivanovic his first victory since sitting back on this bench.

However, things got on a serious note when one Serbian fan got arrested after the game for having committed sexual aggression, according to what was reported by El Correo.

With an official press release on its website, the Basque team firmly expressed its condemnation about what happened in the Fernando Buesa Arena. “Saski Baskonia expresses his firm rejection of the incidents carried out by Partizan fans during yesterday’s Euroleague match at the Buesa Arena”, the press release opened.

“The action of the security forces was immediate taking the appropriate measures against the violent. We express our full support for the assaulted person and reiterate the condemnation of all types of violence. This type of attitude has no place in sport or in any area of life”, the statement finally closed.

As shared through his social media platforms, moreover, Chima Moneke received vocal messages full of racist comments from Serbian fans after the end of the encounter.
