On the receiving end of an upgrade to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Bruno Caboclo was officially placed on the roster of Partizan Mozzart Bet.
Caboclo, 28, inked a two-year contract, the team announced on Tuesday.
He joined the team coached by Zeljko Obradovic following a peculiar offseason marked by the dispute with Umana Reyer Venice and the attached interest of the team based in Belgrade for his services. Last week, team president Federico Casarin reiterated that the player is under contract with the Italian club.
Also during the summer, the Brazilian forward/center represented his country in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Tallying 16.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.2 blocks, and 0.8 assists per contest combined with Brazil ranking 13th and himself attracting the attention of additional teams across Europe, a few weeks after being officially picked up by Venice.
Playing for ratiopharm Ulm at the bottom end of the 2022-23 season, Caboclo was among the key players in winning the first domestic league championship in team history. He averaged 14.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game over 30 appearances in Germany’s easyCredit BBL. In 11 games played in 7DAYS EuroCup, he piled up 17.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
Emerging as a promising young prospect, he was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 20th overall pick of the 2014 NBA draft. He played in 107 games lasting until 2021, before switching to other options outside the league based in North America.
