After the win over Fenerbahce, Crvena Zvezda’s leader Milos Teodosic took an exception and talked to the local press about Tuesday’s game and also the upcoming contest against Olympiacos.
As he said about beating Fenerbahce: “It’s an important victory. A great game for us. First of all, we played great in defense, that’s the way we should play defense for the rest of the season and that’s what I’m most proud of. Not only tonight, we’ve been playing well since the beginning of the season. We weren’t lucky, we lacked a little bit of experience and little knowledge in some games. First of all, I’m referring to the games against Partizan and Zalgiris, where we lost for nothing. We need to stay positive and look forward. That’s the right way”.
The 36-year-old playmaker also admitted that last night’s opponents were not in their best shape and credited Zvezda fans for their support: ” Fener didn’t play the way they play in general, but we certainly didn’t let them either. They had a bit of a bad day, to be honest. And this was probably one of the best games since I’ve been at Zvezda. It’s nice when you see that someone appreciates your effort and the emotion you show during the game. It gives you even more energy and motivation to play as well as possible in front of your fans.”
Last but not least, Teodosic talked about his return to Pireaus where he played between 2007 and 2011 for Olympiacos, and admitted that there’s a special connection between him and the Greek club: “The opposing fans don’t put pressure on me. I put pressure on myself to play and give my best. I’ve always liked to go and play down there… I hope we enjoy the game and play the way we played tonight. I’m emotionally attached to Olympiakos and Athens”.
