Panathinaikos has a 6-4 EuroLeague record, the team is clicking and producing attractive basketball and what’s even more admirable is that two key members, Juancho Hernangomez and Ioannis Papapetrou are still missing.
Luca Vildoza talked to Eurohoops about the current situation of the team and also about the players coming back soon from injuries.
As he said, especially Dinos Mitoglou who has an impressive run is missing the teammate who will share the power forward position with him. “We miss Juancho, especially Mitoglou misses him because he is forced to play a lot of minutes”, said Vildoza. “we will see how he will return to the team because he has been missing almost for a month. It will be difficult for him to get right away into shape, but we expect him to be back.”
However, Panathinaikos is already on the rise, and the buzz around fans of the club is once again positive.
This was evident in the celebrations after the home win against Valencia and Vildoza admitted it.
“It was a very nice moment, it was very beautiful”, he added, “it’s so nice to know we have them on our side. But it’s nicer to win. We are very happy to have made our fans happy”.
On the same time, he also doesn’t like big talk and doesn’t want to hear words like “Final Four”, at least not yet.
As Vildoza explains: “We’re building something here. It’s a project and maybe we won’t win right away, it’s a process, especially this year and you have to trust it. We are doing very well, we have room for improvement and it will come with time”.
