Last week, Real Madrid suffered its first defeat of the EuroLeague season. In the upcoming double week, the defending champions will face Olympiacos and Panathinaikos in Athens. Reportedly, Sergio Rodriguez won’t be able to help the team in Greece.
According to Pilar Casado, the 37-year-old point guard didn’t travel with the team after a blow suffered to the hip in the match against Fenerbahce.
Real Madrid faced and defeated Rio Breogan over the weekend, with Rodriguez being out of the team.
Mateo also won’t be able to count on Guerschon Yabusele, who is recovering from a long-term knee injury.
Rodriguez played all 11 matches in the EuroLeague this season, averaging three points and 3.9 assists. He also appeared in 10 ACB League games, averaging five points and 4.4 assists. Real Madrid lost only two times since the start of the season, once in the EuroLeague and the ACB League, sitting at the top of the standings in both competitions.
