With Monaco losing to Partizan in Belgrade, Monaco’s players didn’t hide their surprise by late calls in the game.
“We went five against eight, I just said it. I mean, I don’t know. It’s embarrassing for the EuroLeague. Never in my career I talked about refs or their bad decisions, but this was one after another”, said Lithuanian center Donatas Motiejunas in his post-game interview in Skweek, the French TV rights holder of the competition.
Motjejunas didn’t hide his thoughts: “We just had a home game where there was a similar situation, we reported eight situations, and six out of them were mistakes. I’m curious how this ends right now, and what it will show. That type of officiating is a shame for the tournament.”
More Monaco players, to be exact Jaron Blossomgame, Matthew Strazel, John Brown III, and Alpha Diallo complained on social media about the referees.
