Bad news for Aleksa Avramovic. The 29-year-old combo guard hurting his left leg overshadowed the winning effort of Partizan Mozzart Bet against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan on Thursday.
Avramovic, 29, is expected to miss two months, according to Serbian outlet Mozzart Sport.
“Aleksa’s injury is serious. He was seriously injured. A broken leg,” mentioned head coach Zeljko Obradovic in the postgame press conference, “So many unfortunate situations over these two years. I am very sorry for everything.”
The Cacak native lasted just over five minutes in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Round 13 contest held in Stark Arena. Rolling his ankle and falling to the floor immediately took the looks of a major injury. Sadly, legendary play-caller Obradovic confirmed the worst fears. Following the initial medical tests, the severity of the injury will be determined by an MRI on Friday.
Logging 12 games played in his second campaign in Europe’s premier club continental competition, Avramovic averaged 8.1 points, 1.8 assists, 1.7 rebounds, 0.6 steals, and 0.2 blocks per contest. At the regional level, he had 10.9 points, 2.9 assists, 1.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.1 blocks over nine appearances in the 2023-24 installment of the AdmiralBet ABA League.
Packing five wins in a row across both leagues, Partizan jumped to 7-6 in the EuroLeague and 7-3 in the ABA. However, extending the streak without Avramovic can present difficulties. Other players currently placed on the injury list are Frank Kaminsky (ribs) and Uros Trifunovic (thigh).
