The latest head-coaching adjustment in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague attracted the attention of Zeljko Obradovic.
Obradovic, 63, already talked to former assistant and best man Dimitris Itoudis following his departure from Fenerbahce Beko. He shared plans to also reach out to Sarunas Jasikevicius, the successor of the Greek tactician at his former club, former player, and close friend.
“This is the life of the coaches. Somebody goes out, somebody takes the opportunity. And that is it,” said the nine-time EuroLeague champion and current boss of Partizan Mozzart Bet.
After defeating Zalgiris on Thursday, his side launches preparations for the home game against Buducnost VOLI on Saturday. From Round 14 and improving to 8-6 in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season to Round 12 of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season within two days, including a trip from Kaunas to Belgrade.
“I repeat that I am sorry for Dimitris. I hope he can use this time now to relax, to enjoy his life more,” he advised, “If you ask me, honestly our life does not exist. Games, traveling, practices. That is it. That is how it is. The EuroLeague is very tough. I hope people watching us understand this.”
“Tonight we go back and tomorrow we have practice in the morning. What will we do? Just talk a little bit and watch the video. And Saturday, we play a very important game in our league, against Buducnost,” he furthered, “Every game is important.”
“Because of this I say Dimitris to enjoy his life a little bit more,” explained Obradovic.
