Limited to individual training rather than participating in team practices and playing for EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, Kevin Pangos has emerged as an intriguing case for other teams, including Valencia.
The Italian club rejected the latest offer made by the Taronges, according to Valencia-based outlet Las Provincias. Beyond shying from a deal with Valencia, Milan is generally reluctant to keep paying the player to favor a move to an opponent in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
Before the 2022-23 season, the Canadian point guard inked a two-year contract to join Olimpia Milan. Consequently, he must be released from his contract to continue his career elsewhere.
Pangos, 30, last played in late October. After five appearances in the 2023-24 edition of the EuroLeague and five more in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai, he was sidelined, since remaining out of the lineup for the team coached by Ettore Messina. Starting his second year in Milan, the Gonzaga product tallied 7.2 points, 3.0 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per EuroLeague contest, and 8.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.2 rebounds per game at the domestic level.
A veteran of 24 games played in the NBA as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2021-22, his experience in Europe’s premier club continental competition amounts to 161 appearances, including 21 with his current team. Previous EuroLeague destinations were Zenit, FC Barcelona, and Zalgiris. Launching his professional career with Herbalife Gran Canaria in 2015, he made his way to 19 games of the 7DAYS EuroCup.
