Injury woes deepen: Ricci and Voigtmann out for Olimpia Milano

Olimpia Milano secured a notable victory against Barcelona in EuroLeague Round 14 despite missing Nikola Mirotic and Maodo Lo. However, the triumph was marred by two more injuries, as Giampaolo Ricci and Johannes Voigtmann have been officially added to the growing list of sidelined players.

Ricci reported a muscle injury to his right hamstring, scheduled for re-evaluation in three weeks. Meanwhile, Voigtmann, dealing with the aftermath of a blunt trauma to the right knee suffered in Barcelona, will be unavailable for the upcoming match in Varese this weekend.

Mirotic, absent from the last couple of games, is set for re-evaluation in approximately six weeks, while Lo is expected to be out for around three weeks.

Kevin Pangos, absent from Olimpia Milano’s lineup since Round 5, is currently limited to individual training, with the Italian club reportedly being unwilling to let him move to Valencia.

Amidst the setbacks, there is a glimmer of hope for Olimpia Milano, as coach Ettore Messina confirmed that Billy Baron might soon return to the team.

Billy Baron will bring us a lot of enthusiasm and positivity. These recent victories and Baron’s imminent return make us hopeful as we await Mirotic’s recovery and explore options in the market,” Messina said after the win over Barcelona.
