Jordan Loyd missed the start of the season due to back surgery. He returned to the court at the end of October but will now miss at least two weeks of action.
The LNB disciplinary committee announced that the US guard received a four-match suspension following his ejection on December 3 during the match against Paris. He also suffers from back problems and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
According to the press release from the LNB, Loyd used excessive force against Paris player Gauthier Denis, leading to the punishment. However, he already served half of his suspension, missing the matches against Le Portel and Roanne. The former Crvena Zvezda and Zenit player won’t be able to help his team in the games against Metropolitans 92 and Asvel in Betclic ELITE.
On top of that, an injury occurred, so he also won’t be at Sasa Obradovic’s disposal for the matches against Panathinaikos and Bayern Munich in the EuroLeague.
So far, Loyd has averaged 8.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in the EuroLeague and 14.3 points and 3.5 boards per match in the French championship.
