It’s a shame that Crvena Zvezda found the win in Belgrade against Maccabi Tel Aviv behind closed doors because everybody would have wanted to see Milos Teodosic’s show in this EuroLeague double-game week. With his double-double of 27 points, 14 assists (career-high), and 6 fouls drawn for a PIR of 40, the 36-year-old Serbian leader was named EuroLeague Round 16 MVP.

The magician praised the team’s effort in the aftermath. “Those guys [Rokas Giedraitis, Mike Tobey, Adam Hanga, Dejan Davidovac] are the reason I was able to be in the position to get 14 assists. This is a team game and I don’t want to talk about myself”, he commented after shooting 2/3 from two-point range, 6/9 from beyond the arc, and 5/5 at the free-throw line.

“That’s the way we need to play. Every game somebody needs to step up and take some responsibility and some decisions. That’s the way we need to play to win the next games. This is the way we are going to catch some rhythm and get some wins in a row”, Milos Teodosic followed.

Other figures talked about his individual show. “He’s a great player, a great player. One of our leaders. He is playing amazing. What can I say”, Rokas Giedratis said. “Milos was amazing today. We know his quality, his talent, his skills. He was excellent at scoring and creating for the others. And he deserves big credit for this win”, Crvena Zvezda’s coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos added. “Milos did his things. He was controlling it. It was tough. We tried to change coverage on him but he found a way and he had a huge impact on the game”, Oded Kattash followed them.

Leaving Virtus Bologna, where he played from 2019 to 2023 while also winning the 2021-22 EuroCup, he finally joined the red-and-white Serbian team. Since coming back to his home country, he has been averaging 11.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game with 58.3% from two-point range.
