The city of Belgrade has submitted its candidacy to host the 2026 EuroLeague Final Four, Serbia president Aleksandar Vucic revealed.

“Belgrade applied to organize the Final Four in 2026,” Vucic said, hosted on ‘Novo jutro’ show of RTV Pink. “It’s just the right time to have two representatives at the final tournament, at least one,” he added on Serbia’s EuroLeague representatives Crvena Zvezda and Partizan Belgrade.

“We just set high goals and we have to fight in every place. Not to mention the construction of a complete sports infrastructure,” Vucic also mentioned.

In 2018, Belgrade hosted its first-ever EuroLeague Final Four. Real Madrid won the tournament by beating Fenerbahce Beko in the championship game and Luka Doncic claimed MVP in his last EuroLeague appearances before moving to the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks.

Belgrade was the place where the Final Four was held also in 2022. This time, Anadolu Efes guard Vasilije Micic won MVP in his native Serbia as his team was crowned back-to-back champion thanks to a win over Real Madrid in the Final.

The 2024 Final Four is scheduled to be played in Berlin, Germany while the 2025 edition of the tourney is reported to be held in Barcelona.
