With a historical comeback, going from a 24-point deficit (37-13) at the beginning of the second quarter to a nine-point victory (88-79), Partizan Belgrade had one of its best EuroLeague nights, especially since returning to the competition last season.
Zeljko Obradovic commented about his team effort in the post-game press conference, with his words reported by Basketball Sphere. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and will be remembered. At least I will remember while I am able to remember”, he said while praising the black-and-white fans. “They are wonderful, they carry us. It is easy when you are the coach of Partizan to say that your fans are the best, but they are the best. They are the best to me and will always be the best”, he added.
He also expressed he tried to give a lesson to his players while preparing for the game against Maccabi Tel Aviv. “I told them that here is an opportunity to progress, both as a player and as a person. Every morning when you wake up, you have an opportunity to improve. I’m not someone who thinks he knows everything. I’m still learning to this day. And I learn by spending four hours on video-watching and analyzing games”, the legendary Serbian head coach said.
