Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos commented on the recent report regarding offers by his club to Real Madrid’s Edy Tavares and Mario Hezonja.
“Are you that much terrified there in Spain? You put Marca up to write nonsense reports to mess us up?” Giannakopoulos said on an Instagram story.
Marca reported that Panathinaikos has made pretty strong offers to both Tavares and Hezonja ahead of the expiration of their contracts with Real Madrid this summer.
Tavares is reported to have received a proposal of €3 million annual salary by Panathinaikos while Hezonja is said to have a two-year, €3 million offer in his hands.
Both players are expected to be two of the most highly coveted free agents in the market if Real Madrid doesn’t sign them to an extension before the season is over.
