After signing with Zalgiris Kaunas in December, Austin Hollins won’t end the season with the green-and-white powerhouse, leaving both the EuroLeague – where he scored 3.9 points per game over eight appearances – and the LKL – averaging 6.3 points in three championship games.
The Lithuanian general manager Paulius Jankunas commented on the American forward’s departure. “After the trial period, we evaluated all the circumstances and decided to look for other options. A true professional in this short period, for which we can only give him the best words”, he commented.
The former Maccabi Tel Aviv player was also praised by Andrea Trinchieri earlier on. “I have to address that he is a great human being, the best teammate you can find. He is helping the coach and the teammates. Whatever happens, I am very thankful for the way he’s doing his job as a pro”, he said.
