After Andrea Trinchieri was brought on board by Zalgiris Kaunas, the Lithuanian club decided to side him with a countryman with great coaching experience: the 50-year-old Massimiliano Menetti was officially appointed as the newest assistant coach of the greed-and-white team.
Paulius Jankunas commented on the new arrival on the Lithuanian powerhouse’ website. “As we spoke as soon as Andrea Trinchieri arrived, we gave the coach time to look around. Now together with him, we agreed on how we can strengthen the coaching staff“, he said.
Massimiliano Menetti spent a total of nine seasons with Pallacanestro Reggiana, winning the 2013-14 EuroChallenge and the 2015 Italian Supercup. From 2018 to 2022 he also coached Treviso. His last head coaching experience came in the summer of 2023, with Hapoel Eliat.
