Olympiacos Piraeus center Nikola Milutinov will be out for the next four weeks with a severe ankle sprain that he suffered during the Greek League loss of his team against Panathinaikos Athens. This is quite the blow for the Reds that now practically have only one center available since Moustapha Fall has been ruled out for the next two weeks.
Milutinov was injured after bumping into teammate Kostas Papanikolaou early in the second half of the game. The Serbian big man was visibly in great pain and had to be carried off the floor to the Olympiacos’ locker room.
When it comes to EuroLeague, Milutinov will definitely miss the road trips to Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Valencia as well as the home game vs. ALBA Berlin (before the FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers break of February.
In Greece, Milutinov will be out for the Final Eight Greek Cup tournament.
Milutinov is averaging 8.7 points and 5.8 rebounds in the EuroLeague. He was coming off a rare 20+20 performance in a win over Maccabi Tel Aviv that earned him the first MVP of the Round distinction this season.
