An additional backcourt option emerged for Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet in the form of Nemanja Nedovic heading to Round 23 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season.
Nedovic, 32, will be a game-time decision against ALBA Berlin in Mercedes-Benz Arena on Thursday. In contrast, Milos Teodosic (hamstring) remains on the injury list alongside fellow guard Nikola Topic (knee).
“Teodosic will not travel with the team, he is not ready. He has started individual training, but not with the team. Nedovic will train for the first time, he will travel with the team, but we will make a decision about him before the match. We do not know if he will be 100 percent ready, but we will see. Nikola will start running in these days, so we will see. We are taking it slowly, day by day,” noted head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos on Wednesday.
Two weeks after suffering a partial rupture of the oblique muscle and missing one EuroLeague game, Nedovic is nearing a return to action ahead of initial projections. Before the setback, the experienced Serbian guard averaged 12.9 points, 2.5 assists, 1.7 rebounds, 0.6 steals, and 0.2 blocks per contest in his tenth EuroLeague campaign.
The team based in Belgrade carries a 9-13 W-L tally, two games short of the Play-In zone in Europe’s premier club continental competition.
A comfortable win against FMP Soccerbet in Round 17 of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season on Sunday improved the league-high record to 15-2.
