After dominating in the Belgrade derby against Partizan Mozzart Bet, Joel Bolomboy signed a contract extension with Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet until 2026, the club officially announced.
Meridian Sport first reported the news about the extension, and not the Serbian club confirmed, that thee Ukrainian-born Russian-American center is staying for two more seasons.
Joining Crvena Zvezda from Olympiacos last summer on a one-year deal, Bolomboy is enjoying an excellent season, posting career-high numbers. He leads Crvena Zvezda in the EuroLeague with averages of 10.4 points and 5.4 rebounds, boasting a team-high PIR of 14.2 per game.
After spending four years at Weber State, Bolomboy was selected by the Utah Jazz as the 52nd overall pick in the 2016 draft. He also played for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA, tallying a total of 18 regular-season appearances.
In 2018, Bolomboy joined CSKA Moscow, where he spent four successful years, including winning the EuroLeague in 2019. Following his stint in Russia, he spent a season with Olympiacos, securing all domestic trophies during his time in Greece.
