The youngest player to be named MVP of the Month in the EuroLeague is Luka Doncic, in October 2017. From today, Dzanan Musa is next in line, having captured the MVP of January Award at 24 years, 8 months, and 29 days old after an outstanding start in 2024.
Following Facundo Campazzo in November and Mario Hezonja in December, the Bosnian superstar has now completed the first trio of teammates to win the award in successive months. He did so by “finishing second among all EuroLeague players last month in both scoring, with 19.9 points per game, and average performance index rating, at 22.1”, per the official press release.
The former Brooklyn Nets and Anadolu Efes player also “posted double digits in each statistic in all seven games in January”, and especially he recorded a historic performance against his former team on January 5, dragging Real Madrid with a club-record night of 40 points in four overtime.
Averaging 13.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in his second consecutive season with Real Madrid, the 24-year-old keeps on improving and establishing himself as one of the most important players in the current EuroLeague. In his first season in the Spanish capital, he captured gold in Kaunas.
