Sacramento Kings forward and reigning EuroLeague MVP Sasha Vezenkov discussed his favorite EuroLeague Fantasy choices this season, his first outside the competition after eight years.
“I started with Toko Shengelia from the first moment,” Vezenkov said while talking on “EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge” podcast. “Shane Larkin. I usually have Edy Tavares, especially before he got injured. Then I have Chima Moneke, who plays amazing. And then… it depends. I try to find some ‘cheap’, low-budget options that will help. Vanja Marinkovic lately. Before Moneke, I took Nigel Hayes-Davis. He was a long-time part of my team but he got injured. I tried to take Dyshawn Pierre because he plays a lot but he got injured.”
“I wanted to take Mike James so much but I never made it. I didn’t do so well on that part because he plays amazing,” Vezenkov added.
And what about Vezenkov’s former Olympiacos Piraeus teammates? “One-two times I take Alec [Peters]. One-two times I take Nikola [Milutinov]. Or Thomas [Walkup] or Isaiah [Canaan].
Vezenkov is apparently topped in the private league he participates in by Eurohoops’ Michalis Stefanou.
“I play with Michalis Stefanou. He’s first right now. Michalis Lountzis. A friend from Bulgaria, a friend from Greece. Vangelis [Benatos], the head of the department of physio at Olympiacos. Friends around the world. Greece, Bulgaria, Cyrpus, Spain.”
