Mike James is on an exciting path, projected to leap over Vassilis Spanoulis on the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague all-time scoring list. Twelve points away from becoming the leading scorer in the modern history of Europe’s premier club continental competition.
“Yes,” Nikola Jokic replied to Jordan Richard of Swish Cultures about following the superstar of AS Monaco in the hunt for the top spot, a former player of the Phoenix Suns, Brooklyn Nets, and New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA.
James, 33, is up 4,444 points between his current team over the last three seasons and stops at CSKA, AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan, Panathinaikos, and Laboral Kutxa.
“It is definitely a hard one to break. Spanoulis is a legend over there. But Mike is playing… They were in the Final Four last year, right? And he is leading that team really good,” added the Joker, “He is a ruthless scorer.”

Spanoulis, 41, wrapped up his career in 2021 packing a total of 4,455 points between spells with Greek giants Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. Switching to a coaching career, he is currently in charge of Greece’s senior national team and Peristeri bwin, unable to prevent James from getting his first place.
Barring an unexpected setback, the new scoring king will be crowned in Round 28 of the EuroLeague Regular Season. A huge evening is coming up for the Portland native as La Roca Team welcomes Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet in Salle Gaston Medecin next Thursday.
