It isn’t the best of moments for both Virtus Bologna and Ognjen Dobric.
The black-and-white Italian team has suffered the fourth straight loss in the EuroLeague, while the Serbian forward seems far away from being an impactful player on Luca Banchi’s team’s rotations, being conditioned from the injuries he suffered in the first part of the season.
In the EuroLeague Round 31, Virtus Bologna lost 94-79 on the road at Stark Arena, which has been home on several occasions for the former Crvena Zvezda player, honored by his red-and-white people.
Talking to Meridian Sport, he commented on what he felt during the game. “Very strange, mixed emotions. It is very unusual to play against Crvena Zvezda, against the fans. I have been part of the club for years. It was very strange for me to play on the other side. I didn’t mix up the locker rooms, but I went in to say goodbye to the guys, my friends”, he said with joy.
In the summer of 2023, moreover, he and Milos Teodosic went on opposing routes, moving between Virtus Bologna and Crvena Zvezda. “It’s regrettable that I did not play with Milos [Teodosic]. My style of play requires such playmakers. I would enjoy being with him on the floor. He’s a legend in Bologna. Everyone speaks great about Serbs because they left a deep mark on Virtus”, Ognjen Dobric also said.
