The contract of Partizan Mozzart Bet’s head coach, Zeljko Obradovic, expires after the 2023/24 season, but it has already been suggested that the decorated coach will remain in Belgrade thereafter.
Club President Ostoja Mijailovic discussed the negotiations for an extension, and Obradovic himself expressed his willingness to stay with the Black and Whites. Partizan’s sports director, Zoran Savic, has contributed to this narrative.
“It’s all in progress. I don’t think there will be any problems,” Savic optimistically told the Serbian outlet Telegraf.
He also addressed Partizan’s chances of reaching the EuroLeague Play-Ins with two games remaining in the regular season. The Belgrade team is one win away from the 10th spot with a 14-18 record.
“I believe, for sure. We have two games, and I think we can do it if we achieve some normal results. It all depends on us. Currently, it depends on other teams, but I think we have a chance to advance.”
In addition to aiming for the EuroLeague’s postseason, Partizan’s ambition is to defend the ABA League title.
“Definitely, that was our goal at the beginning of the year: to achieve the best possible placement in the EuroLeague and win the ABA League title. We are fighting for it, which is one of this year’s goals,” Savic concluded.
