Valencia hopes to remain a long-term part of the EuroLeague

Valencia General Manager Enric Carbonell talked about the club’s future in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and revealed that the Spanish club is negotiating for a multi-year license.

The goal is to gain stability in the top continental competition, in which they have been participating for the second year in a row via a wild card invitation.

We are in March and we don’t know which league we will be in next season, which is really crazy. We have a Plan B in case we end up in the EuroCup. We are continuing negotiations with EuroLeague for an A license or a multi-year license. We are looking for solutions that will ensure our presence in EuroLeague in the long or medium term,” Carbonell said a month ago to Las Provincias.

The most likely situation is that one of the current clubs with wildcards will have to depart from the EuroLeague for the next season, and it seems that there’s one spot for two suitors, ALBA Berlin or Valencia. The Spanish side is currently 14-18 with two rounds to go in the EuroLeague Regular Season, still in contention for the Play-Ins.
