After poorly performing in the Greek League clash against Kolossos Rhodes, where he shot 1/7 from the field, Luca Vildoza was hugely criticized by Panathinaikos‘ head coach Ergin Ataman, who blamed him in the post-game.
“I want to complain about some players like Luca Vildoza. [He shot] 1 out of 7 field goals. Nobody is in this club for holidays. Everybody must play here every game for their performance. Players like Luca Vildoza can’t finish with 1 out of 7 field goals. Then don’t complain when you don’t play in the EuroLeague”, he commented.
Now, the Argentinian national team’s head coach and Minnesota Timberwolves assistant coach Pablo Prigioni shared on social media his criticism of the Turkish head coach’s attitude.
“He should have more respect for his players”, the former Baskonia point guard, who shares past playing experiences with Luca Vildoza itself, first said, “and help them to play better instead of blame them on the media”, he then added.
Luca Vildoza, who has been averaging 5.7 points per game in just 15:37 minutes of playing time in the 2023-24 EuroLeague, where Panathinaikos already qualified for the Playoffs, previously said that he has “to accept” his role and that he needs “more time to adapt”.
