After Luis Scola, another Baskonia memorable icon will have his jersey up in the rafters of the Fernando Buesa Arena.
It’s the case of Tiago Splitter, who played with the Basque representative from 2003 to 2010, after being already signed in 2000, spending some years on loan.
Before the ACB encounter on May 5 at 12:30 CET against Basquet Girona, the current Houston Rockets assistant coach will be honored by the Basque people.
Winning 9 titles (2 ACB in 2008 and 2010, 3 Copa del Rey in 2004, 2006, and 2009, and 4 ACB SuperCup in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008, he was also named ACB MVP in the 2009-10 season, his last one in Europe before heading to the NBA with the Spurs.
Earlier in the season, Tiago Splitter stopped by at the EurohooPOD, commenting on the shining moments with the Basque team in the ACB and in the EuroLeague under Dusko Ivanovic, playing next to his beloved friend Luis Scola.
