Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv had to push back the initial schedule regarding flying from Tel Aviv to Belgrade following Iran’s attack on Israel, but the Yellows managed to travel to Serbia on Sunday. However, Wade Baldwin wasn’t with the team.
He had a bureaucratic issue, but according to Maccabi‘s official report, everything is resolved, and the US guard will join the team later today for the game against Baskonia in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Play-Ins (16/04).
“Wade Baldwin will join Maccabi later today in Belgrade with his family after an issue concerning his son’s passport. Baldwin’s presence was required, and everything was resolved.”
The former Olympiacos and Bayern Munich player was integral to Maccabi’s success this season, averaging 17.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game in the EuroLeague.
Due to ongoing conflicts in Israel, the Tel Aviv team played almost all EuroLeague home games in Belgrade and will continue hosting teams in the Belgrade Arena until the end of the season in continental competition.
