Olympiacos is set to face Barcelona in the EuroLeague Playoffs, with the first game at Palau Blaugrana scheduled for April 24. However, Georgios Bartzokas might face a challenge before the initial matchup.
Naturalized Greek national team player and Olympiacos point guard Thomas Walkup was forced to withdraw from training due to a back problem just one day before the clash with Barcelona.
Additionally, Kostas Papanikolao is suffering from a virus and remains sidelined.
The second game of the series will be held on Friday (April 26) in Barcelona, and it will later move to Piraeus on April 30.
It’s worth noting the importance of Walkup and Papanikolau for Olympiacos. The naturalized guard averages 8.7 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.1 rebounds in the EuroLeague this season, while the captain averages 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists.
