Entering the EuroLeague Playoffs as regular season rulers and last year’s champions, Real Madrid completely dismantled Baskonia to take the 1-0 lead.
Sergio Llull helped with 8 points, including two three-pointers out of a total of six attempts. This made his become the all-time leader in three-pointers made (624) in EuroLeague history.
Commenting on such a feat, he put the emphasis on Real Madrid’s next appointment. “It’s amazing to pass a legend like [Juan Carlos] Navarro. I’m really happy, but I’m happier about the win. The most important thing is that we put a 1-0 in the series, now we have to focus on Thursday”, he said.
Later on, when asked about his 17-year EuroLeague career, he had no doubts about his secret. “I put all my heart when I played. If you do that, you can make shots, you can miss sometimes. But the most important thing is your attitude”, he said. “I’m really proud of my career, and I want to still play a couple of years more. Let’s see”, he added while laughing.
