Kendrick Nunn was the biggest star of a memorable green night in OAKA, pushing Panathinaikos to the EuroLeague Final Four after 12 years of long waiting.
He scored 26 points over 6/10 from three-point range including the “dagger” that closed the conversation to beat Maccabi in Game 5.
Right after the end of the game, Spanish journalist Chema de Lucas reported that the American guard would stay with the Greek powerhouse, signing a two-year extension to keep him around in the EuroLeague. An NBA release clause is reportedly also included in the new deal.
Eurohoops sources confirm the information, adding that the out clause to return to America should expire on July 15, and will also be present in 2025. The 28-year-old standout guard is expected to earn 5 million euros over these two seasons.
As he previously stated, Nunn had decided to play only for Panathinaikos in Europe if he doesn’t return to the NBA and it remains to be seen if he will find an offer in the NBA market that can pull him away from Athens.
Panathinaikos officially confirmed the deal a few hours later with Nunn signing his new contract in a meeting with the club owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos and his Greek agent – who is also representing Giannis Antetokounmpo – Giorgos Panou (photo).
