Fenerbahce made history in Monaco tonight, winning on the road to get back to the Final Four after a 5-year wait, breaking the curse in Game 5 after 19 straight defeats for the away teams in EuroLeague history.
Stopping by in the mixed zone for the usual post-game flash interview, Sarunas Jasikevicius was over the moon, first saying hello to his family back home. “I feel amazing”, he said sending a kiss to his dears.
Immediately later, while asking about going to Berlin, he got completely showered by Nigel Hayes-Davis. “The next step is how to land and play in Istanbul. How we’re gonna take that plane down I have no idea, but this flight home has to be legendary. Yellow nation, get ready for Berlin”, he ended.
Joining the Turkish yellow-and-blue powerhouse, he will try to give the team its second-ever EuroLeague title, which will be his first one. At the end of May, he will coach at his 5th EuroLeague Final Four, after getting there with Zalgiris (2018) and Barcelona (2021, 2022, and 2023).
