Real Madrid forward Gabriel Deck will miss the rest of the 2023-24 season, the club announced. The Argentinian player suffered a rupture of the internal collateral ligament in his right knee during the latest ACB game of his team against Valencia on Friday (11/5).

Deck was hurt in the fourth period when his leg collided with teammate Guerschon Yabusele after the two players jumped to get a rebound. He was helped off the floor limping and being visibly in pain.

Real Madrid coach Chus Mateo said in the post-game presser that they hope it’s just a sprain but Saturday’s tests showed the full extent of the damage that will keep Deck out of action for several months. This is the second Final Four he’ll miss since he was also sidelined last year when the Blancos won the championship in the Final vs. Olympiacos Piraeus.

Deck, who was averaging 9.0 points and 3.2 rebounds in 21:13 minutes during the 2023-24 EuroLeague and is widely regarded as one of Real Madrid’s top defensive players.
