Panathinaikos‘ international French center, Mathias Lessort, has been awarded the “Flight of the Year” in the EuroLeague. Throughout the season, Lessort delivered sensational plays, but one moment truly stood out.
His remarkable play earned him the vote for the “Flight Time” of the season, a special recognition in its second year since its inception. Last year’s recipient was Alen Smilagic of Partizan Belgrade.
The standout moment occurred during a game between Panathinaikos and Real Madrid at OAKA. Lessort executed a pick-and-roll with Luca Vildoza, receiving a pass from the Argentinian guard. With tremendous athleticism, Lessort soared toward the basket, delivering a thunderous dunk in front of Vincent Poirier, the tournament’s leading shot-blocker.
Gabriele Procida of Alba, honored as the “Rising Star” of the season, secured the second spot in the voting with a spectacular 360 dunk against Villeurbanne. Poirier himself claimed third place with an alley-oop dunk against Maccabi.
